The Dura-Bond HP Cam Bearing Set - BBM is engineered for high-performance applications in Mopar B/RB-Series and 426 Hemi engines. Featuring a micro-babbitt lining, these bearings reduce microscopic deflections under load, significantly increasing fatigue life. The grain-controlled babbitt, achieved through rapid cooling during casting, nearly doubles tensile strength compared to standard bearings, providing the toughness required for racing conditions. Burnishing the babbitt surface eliminates micro-fissures, enhancing hardness and preventing fatigue failure. Precision machining ensures closer manufacturing tolerances, controlling installed oil clearances and reducing operating bearing pressure. Additionally, the fluoropolymer composite coating retains engine oil on the surface under extreme heat and pressure, offering secondary lubrication during momentary oil starvation, especially crucial during start-up.
