The Holley Universal HydraMat 15x3 Center Outlet 3/8npt is a revolutionary fuel pickup solution that addresses common issues associated with traditional fuel pickups. During hard cornering, acceleration, braking, inclines, and low fuel conditions, fuel can move away from the pickup, introducing air into the system and causing poor engine performance or stalling. The HydraMat utilizes surface tension and fluid wicking to draw fuel from nearly any area in contact with the mat, storing it in its internal reservoir. As sections of the HydraMat are uncovered, tiny pores in the media seal off through surface tension, ensuring fuel remains contained in the reservoir and is drawn from other areas where fuel is available. This extensive coverage allows the HydraMat to pull fuel from virtually any area in the tank or cell, eliminating the need for specialty reservoirs and pickup pumps, thereby reducing cost and complexity. Additionally, the HydraMat acts as a 15-micron pre-filter, eliminating the need for a separate filter before the fuel pump. It is compatible with alcohol, ethanol, methanol, and E-85 fuels, as well as 2-cycle oil blends up to a 20:1 ratio. The HydraMat can be folded and compressed for easy installation through various fuel cell openings. Note: Not for use with most oils or diesel fuels.
